Tableau Server it is designed to facilitate secure collaboration and data analysis across teams, enabling users to access and interact with up-to-date visual analytics via web browsers or mobile devices.
Tableau Server can be deployed on premise or in public or private cloud. There are two type of users for server: Explorers and Viewers. Explorers can perform self-service analytics, build their own visualizations or edit existing visualization published by Creators. Viewers can perform guided analytics and interact with visualizations published by Creators or Explorers through filters and drill-downs.
Data Management is a Tableau Server Add-On used used to enhance the data preparation and data governance process. Tableau Prep Conductor is used to automate the data cleaning and preparation process and is already available. Data Cataloging will be used to manage the relationships between data and the analytical content and will be made available soon.
With Ask Data the business users can type directly the business questions in a human language format and Tableau NLP (Natural Language Processing) functionality will publish directly the appropriate graph answering the question.
